Time Keeper
Time Keeper is and application for tracking how much time you spend on work, games, jumping or anything else. It is essentially a glorified stopwatch, that stores timing information for a project to a simple xml file.
Features:
- Displays total time for a project
- Session log that shows time and date for each session in a project
- Sessions are editable (for when you forget to start/stop the timer)
The application is developed in Java, but is packaged as native applications for windows and os x. An executable jar file is also available for use on other operating systems. If anyone knows how best to package java applications for popular linux distributions, please let me know.

The application icon is not the best looking thing in the world; just ain’t got the skills…

What a simple but great app. I'm using it all the time now. It's value is seen when a client questions the time spent on a job, the printed time log usually does the trick. Many thanks Jacob.
Glad you liked it Terry.
I am working on an online version ( a beta is actually online at http://timer.craftedbits.com ). Would that be something you would consider using, or do you like the downloadable application type program more?
Jacob
Hi Jacob,
I myself prefer the d/l program version but the online version probably has its merits too. Again cheers for the app., I'm using it today as I'm translating a training manual from Spanish to English and its helping me keep an eye on how long I'm spending to justify my budget.
Regards,
Terry
Jacob,
Thank you for a very simple, useful app.
What would make it really good would be an ability to export the entries into an excel (pc) or numbers (mac) file.
Is there any way to do that currently?
Thanks!
Simon
Hi Simon,
I am glad you find the application useful.
Currently it is only possible to export to pdf. I have noted your request, and will have a look at how hard it would be to implement.
Jacob
